The UK Bodysurfing Championships C.I.C. are very pleased to announce that Slyde Handboards will continue as significant sponsors for the UK Bodysurfing Championships again in 2018!
Slyde Handboards (based in southern California) have proved to be one of the fastest growing handboard manufacturers in the world and are going from strength to strength. Their ideas for a business venture were presented to Shark Tank (the US equivalent to Dragons Den) a number of years ago, and since then have really grown the business after gaining that initial funding.
As well as producing magnificent handboards, they now have a matching range of clothing too. It is a great privilege to have them on board with us for another year.
What the UK Bodysurfing Championships really like about Slyde Handboards is not only their proven build quality (which is excellent) but also some of the other abilities all their boards have (such as being able to attach waterproof cameras). This enables participants to record their rides for posterity as well as giving the UK Bodysurfing Championships the ability to record live action as it happens during the events.
It was a priviledge to have Slyde’s CEO’s Steve and Angie come over last year to personally present the prizes, along with their newly born daughter Venice! Not an easy thing to do given the distances involved!
This yea’rs event will again take place at Fistral Beach, Newquay, over the weekend of 22-23rd September. One key change from last year is that the UK Bodysurfing Championships plan to hold events for those using handboards and those without.
All potential competitors from the UK need to become members of the UK Bodysurfing Association first via the Membership page, but can also register early interest via the contact form, and any international competitors who are interested can similarly get in touch this way.
With Slyde Handboards involvement we are guaranteed to have another very successful event!
Other sponsors include Korev Cornish Lager and the Fistral Beach Bar, as well as UK Pro Surf and Newquay BID of course, from whom we work closely with to put this whole event together!
