The sport of Bodysurfing has just celebrated a very successful year in the UK.
The UK Bodysurfing Association C.I.C. only commenced operating as a Community Interest Company just over a year ago but has come a long way in that short time, with the UK Bodysurfing Championships C.I.C. holding their inaugural Championships at Fistral Beach, Newquay in September 2017. This was also a major success!
In the past year the Association’s membership has grown steadily with 20 competitors taking part in their annual Championships. As well as 16 of the UK membership taking part there were also 3 competitors from Portugal and 1 from France. In next years Championships (again to be held at Fistral Beach, Newquay) the event is expected to be bigger and better.
There will also be opportunities for members to get involved in bodysurfing competitions taking place in France, Portugal and Morocco in 2018.
However, UK Bodysurfing Association C.I.C. are not sitting on their laurels but are keen to grow the sport for the future so that even more people can take part. In order to do this they are encouraging youngsters into the sport by offering two junior memberships – at reduced rates.
Juniors under 19 can join for a year for a fee of just £15, whilst those aged 14 and under can join for a year for just £10.
Memberships include insurance and the opportunity to join up at regular Meet Ups around many of the beaches around SW England. There are other benefits of joining such as discounts off bodysurfing products.
Go to Memberships for further information and to join.
