BBC1 Breakfast Show

The UK Bodysurfing Association had a good turnout back in June with Mike Bushell (BBC1 Breakfast Show Sports Presenter) to do some filming about Bodysurfing.

There were about a dozen of the members taking part, including a couple of our ladies, Rachel Symns and Laura Workman. Although the weather was poor on the day, at least there were some waves, and Mike gave it his best efforts.

The end of the video features some on-board footage of Owen Jacka, filmed at his local beach, Porth Towan.

Mike is very well known for having a go at just about any sport out there, and has tried at least 250. He is in the Guinness Book of Records for his achievements. The aim of trying all these sports is to get people of all ages off the settees and out doing things, so highlighting the extreme nature of Bodysurfing can only help to bring more into the sport.

The programme went out on August 17th, just a few weeks ahead of the UK Bodysurfing Championships 2019. These are taking place at Fistral Beach, Newquay on 7-8th September.
